We are delighted to be partnered with Hibernian FC who have committed to support our NHS Heroes as they work through the biggest global health crises of our lifetime, the Coronavirus pandemic. The club and their fans have already raised £35,801.69 to date! Money raised through this partnership will enable Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation to continue to provide additional support for our NHS Lothian colleagues, providing a fast and flexible response to meet any urgent and emerging needs. Money raised will also support staff in their long term recovery from the profound impact of the virus on their physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
We are grateful for the outpouring of support received from the club and fans – from organising raffles to taking part in our Keepie Uppie Challenge to cardboard fans at the stadium, so much has been achieved over the last year.
Check out the events you can get involved in and some of the amazing initiatives below that have taken place as part of the partnership.
Did you know a football player covers on average around 10K-11K on the pitch during a match? Have you ever wanted to run in the boots of a Hibernian football player? Now is your chance with virtual fundraising challenge ‘Fit’ba – in support of the partnership between Hibernian FC and Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation, the official charity partner of NHS Lothian.
During the month of May we are asking you to run the same distance as your favourite player in 90 minutes. Simply choose your player, set a date in May to run the distance they cover in an average match and raise some money!
If full time at 90 minutes is not enough – why not go to extra time? Don’t fancy running full time? Set your own challenge or take part in a half time challenge – choose your player and run half their distance giving yourself 45 minutes. We want you to get involved in any way you can so choose your player and set your challenge today!
How can I take part?
- Accept the challenge and register for FREE today
- Choose your player and their distance
- Set a date in May
- Set up your online fundraising page
- Share your fundraising page and ask your friends and family to donate and raise a minimum suggested sponsorship of £30
- On the day of your run set your clock for 90 minutes (or whatever challenge you have chosen) and run!
We’ll send everyone who takes part their very own Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation t-shirt and you’ll have a dedicated member of the ELHF fundraising team supporting you.
