After you have taken care of your family, remembering any of NHS Lothian’s hospitals in your will ensures that we can continue to support the amazing work that the skilled clinical teams do long into the future. Legacies, whether left for research, new equipment, staff development or additional patient comforts, will help future generations, and are a vital source of income to us.
During the last few years, legacies have supported:
- An extensive refurbishment of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital’s Glasshouses, increasing the number and variety of therapies and activities that can be offered to patients
- A two year research post for a doctor in training in hypoglycaemia and vascular disease at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
- A small clinical study into the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) during angioplasty in patients with very severe coronary heart disease
- The refurbishment of the Relatives Room, and purchase of additional patient comforts in the St John’s Palliative Care Unit
We recommend that you use a solicitor to draft or amend your will. To speak to a qualified legacy administrator for advice about including a gift to Edinburgh and Lothians Health Foundation, or specifically to any of NHS Lothian’s hospitals, please contact us.
