Join us and raise funds to support your local NHS charity, help a ward or department close to your heart. By taking part in an event and choosing Edinburgh & Lothians Health Foundation as your charity, you can help NHS Lothian staff do even more for patients when they are caring for them in hospital or in the community.  From refurbishing wards to make them even more comfortable for patients when they are sick and unwell, to providing some thing as simple as a sofa bed so visitors can stay close by to loved ones when they are really ill to funding cutting edge technology or equipment.  All these things and more have the potential to transform the way NHS Lothian deliver care.

Want to get involved?  Here are some events that you can sign up to and become one of our amazing fundraisers!

Women’s and Men’s 10K, Sunday 24th October, Edinburgh

Get going with your running with this 10K run and find your ‘Why?’  Maybe you haven’t exercised for a while and you want to set yourself a goal, or maybe you want to do something for a ward or hospital that cared for you or a loved one.

Starting on the historic Royal Mile, this incredible city centre route takes you past the Scottish National Gallery and into Princes Street Gardens, with the iconic Edinburgh Castle as your backdrop. It then goes past the Scott Monument and swoops past the Scottish Parliament building, before carrying onto Holyrood Park. Here you take in the spectacular Arthurs Seat, as well as Holyrood Palace and Dynamic Earth, before heading on to the Grassmarket. As you reach the hustle and bustle of the Grassmarket you’re past the halfway point, where the cheering crowds will help you on your way to a grandstand finish at BT Murrayfield Stadium.

We also have charity places for £7 and a pledge to raise £100.

Register for the Women’s 10K 11am, 24th October

Register for the Men’s 10K  9:30am 24th October

Skydive, a challenge of a lifetime, 20 – 21st November

We are thrilled to be working with Skydive St Andrews to bring you two dates for tandem skydives on 20th and 21st November!  If you’re a thrill-seeker looking for their next challenge sign up today!

Exiting the aircraft from up to 10,000ft above the ground, you’ll experience approximately 30 seconds of free-fall – diving through the air at up to 120 miles per hour – before the instructor deploys the parachute at around 5,000ft.

From above our drop zone there are great views over the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh, and Fife – on a good day you will be able to see the southern Highlands in Perthshire.
