Take part in #LockdownChopdown!

The day is finally here…….After 3 months hairdressers can finally re-open! Hurrah! Are you longing to get your luscious (and perhaps wild) locks tamed and chopped off? Are you raring to get your roots done? Or did you try a DIY haircut that didn’t quite go to plan? If it’s a yes to any of these questions, we need you to take part in #LockdownChopdown! Not only will it be a bit of fun, but you can also raise some money to support NHS Lothian staff and patients!

It’s easy to get involved:

  1. Post a photo of your lockdown hair before and after you took the chop
  2. Tag and nominate 2 people sharing the hashtag #LockdownChopdown
  3. Text LOCKDOWNCHOP to 70085 to donate £2* to our NHS Lothian Covid-19 Appeal

Mark Derry was ecstatic to be one of the first to get his hair chopped. Mark said:

“I was over the moon when the barbers finally re-opened. My hair and beard were getting crazy! I was desperate to get them sorted.  I wanted to support #LockdownChopdown and NHS Lothian because when my mother-in-law was seen at the Royal Infirmary A&E, the staff took fantastic care of her and made sure they ran tests and gave her everything she needed before she was released. This is my way of saying thanks while having some fun!”

Why should you get involved?

As we move from crisis to recovery there is still so much we can do to support the health and wellbeing of staff and patients across Edinburgh and the Lothians through and beyond this pandemic. From supporting urgent and immediate needs at the peak of the crisis to providing access to ongoing support for staff and patients in both hospital and community settings, every donation, big or small, continues to make a huge difference to our NHS Heroes in the ongoing fight against Coronavirus.
