The project provides a range of exercise opportunities complemented with nutritional advice to people with diabetes.
Exercise and healthy eating are key to the management of diabetes to avoid complications such as blindness, amputation and a high risk of heart disease and stroke.
Sessions are delivered in a private, safe and welcoming environment to encourage participation by people who would otherwise not have the confidence to undertake exercise. Sessions are free and open to everyone with diabetes in West Lothian.
Offering specialist knowledge on diabetes alongside professional training expertise, the project provides a safe exercise and learning environment with the opportunity to interact with other people with diabetes and learn the basics of exercising with diabetes and healthy eating to support weight management and build confidence in diabetes self-management.
