The residents who live in Murraypark have a profound learning disability and complex health needs including hearing and visual impairments. Our residents have communication difficulties and they cannot express their wishes , choices, likes and dislikes as they have no formal speech , use of sign language or symbols . They rely on us or those who know them well to interpret their facial expressions , sounds and reactions.
An opportunity has arisen to allow us to adapt a room to a therapy/activity room. To enable us to do this we require to purchase some equipment. We are asking for some basic equipment with an aim to make additions to the project over a period of time. Giving our residents the opportunity to experience this room will not only enhance their quality of life but will also improve their well being.
