Sighthill Community Led Sexual Health & Wellbeing Project

Organisation : The Broomhouse Centre
Grant Amount : £ 20,220

The Sighthill area (including Broomhouse & Parkhead) has been identified as an area with poor sexual health outcomes (e.g. high rates of unintended pregnancy, repeat termination, high rates of sexually transmitted infections and higher than average rates of violence against women, including sexual abuse). Whilst this routine data is useful we still need to understand why these issues exist in the community. We are seeking £20,220 to undertake community based research to find out about wider issues that need to be considered. We will apply the evidence based 7 steps model (C2) to maximise engagement with the local community and increase cohesiveness between service providers and local people.
