Willow works with women who are involved with the criminal justice system to support desistence through social and therapeutic programmes which aim to improve health and wellbeing. Service users experience extreme health inequalties as well as mental health and substance misuse issues linked to complex trauma. We are multidisciplinary team including social workers, healthcare staff, psychologists and support workers. The proposed project will provide an opportunity for Willow service users to explore the Mental Health Arts and Film Festival theme of power through drawing and painting, photography, printmaking and creative writing. Pariticipation aims to promote health, wellbeing and recovery through creative expression. This process will result in a set of posters which will be shown in Summer Hall as well as social work centres across Edinburgh as a part of the festival.
