NHS Lothian HIV Patient Forum – Pilot project

Organisation : NHS Lothian
Grant Amount : £ 500

This project aims to establish the NHS Lothian HIV Patient Forum, and to provide a platform from which an HIV peer support network can develop. Public involvement in NHS services is widely considered to be a vital tool for improving the quality of services, and is deemed vital by the recent update of the Scottish Government Blood Borne Virus Framework. Patients will be encouraged to attend patient forum meetings, and to be highly involved in driving the agenda of these meetings, in order to contribute to improvements in the services they attend. Funding will initially be required for marketing materials, refreshments at meetings, and to re-imburse travel expenses.
