Lothian Disability Curling Project

Lothian Disability Curling Project will create curling clubs for wheelchair users, deaf and visually impaired people willing to try curling to increase their health and well being. It will begin with an eight hour training course designed to provide qualified coaches with the knowledge and techniques to introduce curling to those with disabilities. The coaches will then deliver weekly on ice sessions for the winter season, which will be run by the club in future. Outcomes: – Increased participation in physical activity- Development of social skills, relationships and mental health- Creation of clubs to sustain activity long term- Better trained workforce
