Liberton Day Hospital Garden

Organisation : NHS Lothian
Grant Amount : £ 369

To maintain outdoor quad area within Day Hospital. it has different areas. The paved area is used for mobility practice with the physiotherapists. In warmer weather patients like to sit out for short periods looking at the plants and flowers. The patients who attend the day hospital have longstanding illness or disability. Most are socially isolated having little ability to venture out from their own homes. Attending the Day Hospital weekly is the only time they have the opportunity to sit outdoors safely. For some it brings back memories of there own gardens. Being successful in this grant would allow the nurse who regularly attends this garden the equipment to maintain its standard by having the correct tools thereby continually allowing the area to be used by patients.
