The LEAP Family Programme (LFP), funded by ELHF, has evaluated highly providing solid evidence of the project’s efficacy. We now wish to act on the recommendations of the independent evaluation, which was funded by the last grant from ELHF. We will consolidate the learning of the last two years, and we wish to introduce 2 new elements to the project: A new group to be held in the daytime; Specialised groups to meet the specific needs of sub-groups – partners, siblings, adult children of patients. Our funding runs out this autumn. Having had time to consider the evaluation, we are applying for bridge funding to give us time to apply to the Lottery to fund a consolidated and expanded project. This is preventative work: by supporting families, they are less likely to present with problems to other services. We plan to roll out our learning across the wider Substance Misuse Directorate.
