Homelessness to Community Engagement through focus on physical exercise & supportive and companionable relating

Organisation : NHS Lothian, Edinburgh Access Practice
Grant Amount : £ 2,000

I am seeking funding for patients who are currently linked with the EAP (current registered patients), and those who were registered with us but are now at a different stage in their recovery from homelessness; a stage of recovery where their main support is from a Community Social Enterprise initiative called Street Fit Scotland SFS. SFS has become the main community link for a number of our patients (10 current), a space where they feel safe and able to enjoy supportive-companionable relating, while also getting the benefit of exercise, healthy eating guidance, and accompaniment to city spaces that they may never have felt welcome in. Small grant funding would enable us at EAP to pay for the cost of training shoes, and kit for the 10 current patients, contribute towards catering for day trips/group activities, and pay for 20 future referrals (over 6 month period) SFS can accommodate.
