Developing physical fitness pathways for stroke survivors in Lothian

Organisation : NHS Lothian
Grant Amount : £ 10,008

Stroke survivors have significantly lower levels of physical fitness than people of similar ages. This often contributes to difficulty functioning. The Scottish Government’s ‘Better Heart Disease and Stroke Care Action Plan’ states that stroke survivors should be able to access exercise and fitness training after stroke. This project will increase specialist knowledge and skills amongst fitness instructors and deliver organisational change to ensure access to fitness training across Lothian for people with stroke, thus ensuring that NHS Lothian meets the national targets.
