Organisation : Willow Grove Therapeutic Day Programme, CAMHS
Grant Amount : £ 4,999
Project Dates : January to July 2019

Research has indicated that Music Therapy intervention with adolescents with psychopathology is clinically effective, with significant effect observed among adolescents with mental health, developmental or behavioural disorders. It is proposed to introduce a fixed-term audited music therapy service to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

The Willow Grove Therapeutic Day Programme (TDP) promotes multi-disciplinary therapeutic interventions for individuals and groups alike. Placing the young person at the centre of the care plan, the programme promotes healing and autonomy. Group and individual Music Therapy sessions will be offered for an initial period of 6 months on a weekly basis. Both day patient and outpatient referrals shall be considered.

The sessions shall be facilitated by a HCPC registered Music Therapist working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team at Willow Grove Therapeutic Day Programme (West Lothian CAMHS).
