Grant Amount : £ 18,600
Project Dates : April 2013 to March 2015

This project/programme delivers education and physical activity sessions in local primary schools, over the period of five weeks.

The project covers healthy lifestyle topics including mental health, importance of water, food & nutrition, physical activity and oral health. Games relating to the health theme e.g Tommy Toothbrush , follows a short education input on the topic. The use of football provides a window of opportunity to deliver key health messages, in line with Health & Well Being curriculum for Excellence outcomes.

The project is evaluated by the class teacher and the pupils themselves. Evaluation includes exploring changes in knowledge and behaviours. A teacher resource will be developed as part of the project to enable a future roll out across other schools.
